Ilaria Rea (IR) graduated in Physics at University of Naples Federico II in 2003 and received the PhD in 2008 defending a thesis on “Porous silicon based optical devices for biochemical sensing”. She is researcher at Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems of the National Research Council in Naples, Italy. Her research interests are in the fields related to nano- and microscale materials for optical biosensing and drug delivery. She is author or co-author of more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers published on indexed journals, over 30 conference proceedings, six book chapters, two Italian patents. SCOPUS reports for the author IR a h-index of 25 and a citations number of 1600. She is reviewer for many international journals. Since 2006, she is member of Electronic Group (GE) and of Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF).
