Monica Terracciano graduated in Pharmacy at University of Naples “Federico II” in 2011 discussing a thesis on "Solid phase synthesis of new complexes of cisplatin with potential antitumor activity". In 2012 she joined the Institute for Microelectronic and Microsystems of National Research Council in Naples as post-graduate trainee where she was involved in the realization and characterization of porous silicon-based devices for biosensing and drug delivey studies, surface chemical modification, and immobilization of biological probes like DNA, peptides, antibodies, SiRNA etc.
In 2016 she got the PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Science at University of Naples “Federico II” defending a thesis on “Bioengineered Porous Silica Devices for Biomedical Applications”. Her PhD activity was the design and the realization of organic–inorganic hybrid porous silica devices for biosensing and drug delivery purposes, evaluating the device properties by in vitro and in vivo studies. In the same period she has started to work as post-doctoral scientist at Istitute for Microelectronics and Microsystems – Unit of Naples of the National Research Council.
