Dr. Venkata Swamy is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow with CNR-IMM-Unit of Agrate Brianza since November 2019 within an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project of “SKYTOP”. Before joining CNR-IMM, he worked as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of physics, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He has obtained his Ph.D degree in 2016, thesis entitled on “Structural, magnetic, spin dynamics and interface studies of CoFeB thin films” from the Academy of Scientific and Industrial research (AcSIR) at CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi, India. His research expertise is in growing thin films, magnetic multilayers and Nano structured materials for Spintronics and Opto electronic devices applications.
His present research activity is focused on Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) of 2-dimensional Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs) and their magneto transport characterization. In particular, develop newly discovered topological classes and Weyl semi metals of MoTe2 and WTe2 on a large scale synthesis and their extensive characterization for Skyrmion-Topological insulator and Weyl semimetal technology.
