Multiferroic materials are characterised by the coexistence of two or three degrees of order (among ferroelectricity, ferroelasticity or magnetic order) and their feature opens interesting fields either for practical application and theoretical investigation. In fact, in recent years, such kind of compounds has gained a larger and larger attention and new compounds are always required.The term “tetragonal tungsten bronze”(TTB) describes compounds with general formula (A1) x (A2) yCzB10X30 (0< x, z< 4 and 0< y< 2) having a layered structure ideally derived from the perovskite structure by rotation of some [BX6] octahedra and by corner sharing of those units. Linking of rotated blocks produces different types of channels containing A1, A2, C ions and the possibility of a partial filling of that tunnels gives rise to a very flexible system either for cation compositions and valence state.
