Description:
In this paper we present the design and fabrication of a nano-scaled device able to sort, isolate and separate particles suspended in a liquid medium. The device is biocompatible, electrically and chemically inert. Its mechanical and chemical features, together with the technological procedure used for its fabrication, makes it easily integrable in compact microfluidic-based and microscaled devices with a variety of biomedical applications in the field of particle counting, sorting and monitoring. It’s reproducibility makes it a good alternative in terms of particle filtering where the size and shape of the porosity needs to be accurately controlled. We present the design as well as the detailed fabrication procedure, together with some Scanning Electron Microscope images of the resulting device.
