Description:
Proteins are a class of intriguing biomolecules since they are involved in all the major biological and vital processes. Due to their variety and complexity, proteins are more and more used in all fields of biotechnology, in particular in many applications regarding diagnostic and therapeutics. Porous silicon (PSi)-based devices are often used together with different classes of proteins. In this chapter, we report the experience of our groups on protein (hydrophobin) modified-PSi optical structures.
