In this work, the feasibility of exploiting novel Cadmium Arachidate (CdA)/single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) based composites as sensitive coatings for the development of robust and high performances optoelectronic chemosensors able to work in liquid environments has been investigated and proved. Here, nano-composite sensing layers have been transferred upon the distal end of standard optical fibers by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. Reflectance measurements have been carried out to monitor ppm concentration of chemicals in water through the changes in the optical and geometrical features of the sensing overlay induced by the interaction with the analyte molecules.
