We announce the special issue on the peer reviewed journal Nanomaterials (IF 4.324) at

https://www.mdpi.com/journal/nanomaterials/special_issues/Mesoporous_Photovoltaics

The submission deadline is 31 July 2021 and papers may be submitted immediately or at any point until 20th February 2021.

The accepted papers will be published on an ongoing basis.

We welcome contributions in the framework of the applied material science that have an impact on increasing the cost-efficiency convenience and on accelerating the market uptake of solar cells based on hybrid technologies, comprising Dye and Perovskite Solar Cells (DSC and PSC). Recent breakthroughs have been achieved by combining PSC with Silicon solar cells to boost the photon-to-current efficiency above the Shockley–Queisser limit of single devices. Research has been playing the major role with pivotal involvement of advanced materials and phenomena at the nanoscale that take place into the layers and at the many interfaces established along the architecture. Many aspects are still unknown or not fully understood that address towards new materials with tailored functionalities.
